Recently purchased a 2004 Z4 and am having issues with the key fob. Power locks work fine by using the key in the door and the button in the centre console.
List of things I have tried so far:
1. Got a replacement key cut and programmed to the vehicle as I thought the battery in the fob was dead. Guy that kit and programmed the key noted that the original key was sending out a signal fine when lock/unlock buttons were pushed. He tried to sync the keys but was unsuccessful. Oh well now I have 2 keys.
2. Looked at all the fuses that may be connected to the remote locks with no blown fuses that can see.
3. Bought a used replacement mirror as I thought the antenna in the mirror may be faulty. Plugged in the new mirror and still doesn’t work. Tried syncing the keys again but nothing worked…
Running out of ideas.
