Looks like nail varnish that's been applied with a fork by a blind man.

Hmmm. I reckon if I fed a mixture of red hammerite and laxatives to my wife's miniature dachshund, then laid the keys behind it I'd get about the same result.

Found on floor, i wonder which BMW this belongs to.

Got back to Brum airport and lost car on car park. I'm sure we parked it here. Took us half hour to find it.
I even went to the booth and asked if they could check cctv to see if it had driven off, said they couldn't.

Crikey, don't hold back fellas :o . I guess if you're going to post your efforts on a forum you'd better expect some stick.
Perhaps you should have only done one, guaged the reactions and kept the other one original. Personally, I think you should have split the case, removed the silver buttons and BMW badge (or at least masked them all off) and used a spray - the brushmarks are a bit too thick. Some sandpaper as suggested might smooth it out (again, don't forget to remove the buttons or mask off). Would be interested to see a V2.0 if you do. I'm not against the idea of a different coloured fob, just the execution in this case (sorry :? ).
If it comes to it, replacement key fob cases are very cheap so not hard to keep experimenting, or to go back to original

Its posted to give people ideas rather than invite the excess piss taking. I could rip in to people for their choices on car colour, mods etc but as we say 'be nice'.
In reality (in my hand) they dont look as uneven as in the photos where they are definitely catching the light, although I may try the iron oxide idea just to see what happens, and because I am still bored :D
The keys are not finished either, as my car has keyless start etc I have two chromed steel fob cases on order... Watch this space :D

You could have got something like this
