Key chamber broken

Hi guys,

My car alarm kept going off yesterday so decided to lock the car by key. It locked fine, but when I went to open it this morning, the key chamber has come completely loose. So when I rotate the key, the chamber rotates with the key!

Anyone else had this problem? I'm worried I'll have to take it into my local stealership...

I seem to remember that the key barrel is he'll in the door lock by a spring retaining clip. It's probably popped off. Just remove the door panel and refit it. You'll probably have to bend it to make it secure.

The car alarm going off could well be the bonnet switch, very common that they fail. Mine did, and I just disconnected the plug from it, no more false alarms. It's right at the back on the firewall as you open the bonnet.
