Ok, in the greater scheme of things it's not the biggest disaster in the world but
Would value the opinion of this erudite forum (also welcome are less erudite opinions, heckling, and laughter at my expense)

Did it post night shifts trying to go up into sainsbury multi-storey carpark with a narrow winding entry.

Not sure if the wheels are finished in BMW silver, polished or 'glass lacquer'??
Wheel wizards tells me the price will depend on this. From £65 to £105 plus VAT depending on simple paint to needing glass finish.
Is it even worth doing, do I just suck it up? :headbang:
At the moment it is annoying me but maybe I should learn to live with it.

So thoughts please.

and you have had it how long? :(

i think it will happen again so why bother repairing it

Feel your pain. I did my CSLs recently, three at practically the same time and also going into a Sainsbury multistory car park.

To add insult to injury I then had them refurbished and promptly kerbed one again. Although it isn't too noticeable thankfully.

those look to be painted w/ a clear finish.
I'd get them fixed just because it's such a nice car. On my car however... I wouldn't.

oh, and you have permission to scream.

Ouch. :(

Give yourself a couple of months - if you dont do it again, get the wheel refurbished - if you have repeated hits in that time, then probably not worth it!

.....go ahead and scream...we've all done it at some time! :) It looks a smart looking motor, for the sake of a cost of a repair if it were me I would get it done...shame to spoil it!

Thanks for the vote of confidence :P

it's not so much the cost, but the hassle of giving the car up for a couple of hours to a couple of days.
And the wheel will no longer be 'as new'
And how much is a new alloy wheel anyway?

Alloy retail is about £450, but just get it furbed....I couldn't live with it myself. I used to get my Range Rover wheels done every month!!

braingirl, playalistic, I would either...

book a course of driving lessons...

or

stop shopping at Sainsbury's! :P

... and then get the wheels sorted! :P

Seriously, its a shame to see such a nice alloy scuffed like that. I reckon you will be more careful after getting them fixed though.

nightmare :(

I kerbed mine within the first couple of weeks, left it a while while I got used to the length of the bonnet etc. then Changed for a different style (due to cost and likely recurrance of refurb (108s))... that was 3 years ago - not a scrape since :D

feel for you though

Have you got a quote from your local dealer? Sytner Nottingham advertise alloy repairs "from" £45.

Hi

You could get a smart repair done and get them to come out to your place of work not ideal but a quick fix for the time being .

Hi Brain girl

I have found a pot of humbrol silver is pretty good at disguising kerbing, a lot cheaper than a refurb, also these http://www.alloygator.co.uk/ might be worth a look if you do get a refurb

Oh, and scream away

I wouldn't do anything with it for now. I clunked mine a couple of times before I giot the measure of the proportions of the car when parking etc.I have one wheel with a couple of dings just like yours and to be honest, cos it's already bashed, I don't panic every time I park up against a kerb. I can live with a little bit of damage to an alloy, I'll get it refurbed when the rest of them need attention or I sell the car.

I had 27000kms on mine and was feeling pretty chuffed then I decided to scuff the right front onto the yellow curb ........ no point in screaming, it happens to all of us. I just scraped the yellow paint off, shed a quick tear and went in the house.
