Kent area: Smoke from behind the HVAC temperature knob

Had the heater on and suddenly saw wispy white smoke coming from behind the temperature dial. Pulled over and got out in case there would be a fire. Thankfully not.

Mechanically all is fine (passed MOT today) but need to resolve this. All dials/switches light up on the HVAC panel but if turn on the blower then soon after start getting a similar acrid smell.

Any recommendations for an auto electrician or HVAC specialist in the Canterbury/Sittingbourne area? TIA.

Obviously a component in the unit has burnt out, best find a replacement unit from one of our resident breakers and change them over.
Depends on which module is fitted to your car, Real oem parts site shows 3 types so you need to cross reference your part number with those listed in real oem. Check using your last seven of your Vin Number to get the right parts listing for your car.
Example here using my 2.5 with Air Con
