To be honest my, now gone, 3.0 E85 wasnt a problem most of the time - just once in a while it hopped of the line and needed the clutch dipping to correct the situation.

The s54 problem is a bit different (well at least in my experience). It most often happened in low rev situations in 2nd gear (car is rolling already), gentle throttle pickup. The effect can be quite violent on the car if you don't drop the clutch, it can feel like the whole car is bouncing. :o

You've seen the film of the Tacoma Narrows bridge??

Ah never had it in second

I've only really had it when not really concentrating and going round a slow roundabout in 1st
Then bouncy bouncy hahahah

Only way to therefore look cool is to put back end all over the other side of the road ;)

Coolness regained

Think I even had it in 3rd once when cold. I'm pretty fussy about revving when cold and I think low revs definitely initiates the issue.
Your approach sounds like a good one, until...

Coolness, all gone. :D

Yeah definitely worse cold
I always wait till min 80c before open up a n bit
N ouch

It's easy to replicate - cold start, sport button on, ask your Citroen-driving mate to have a go. Horrible feeling!

Hahah and crash

I actually had noticed this issue leaving first gear when I test drove the z4m last night. It seems something you just have to finesse with the throttle and clutch..

What is the CDV removal entail?

It always felt to me that the bouncing was a result of the DSC kicking in when it was not supposed to. Quite surprised nobody else thinks the same.

I've learnt to recognise the incipient stage of the kangaroo effect and therefore prevent it. When I drive in M-Track mode or DSC off, it never feels like the bouncing will happen which just reaffirms my suspicions.

You guys might be describing something else but in my 3.0 Coupe I get a jerky effect in slow traffic if I don't have a nice steady throttle. I believe it's the dual mass flywheel being worn and the springs within it are weaker so letting off the throttle causes a bit of oscillation in the drivetrain.
