kangarooing

Cold starts normally get all tuned and big cars spitting and coughing at first
Rest is purely clutch control
Stuck it in sport learn to drive with this on

Trust me sport off and you'll never roo again then

I hate fast 1st to 2nd!!
Catches and makes you miss gear

As everyones said, you'll get used to it, 'sport button on' definitely made it worse for me to begin with, as a touchy clutch with on/off throttle is a pretty raw combination, however, you'll adjust quickly, and inevitably end up with a super strong left leg... :)

I have solved this problem the same way. Sport button off.

2-3 times I have been embarrassed trying to make that fast 1st to 2nd gear change by missing it.

I know! tell me about it.
However, I'm going easy on it having only recently got it back up and running.
I'll be hooning it down to the 'ring at some point in the new year to 'christen' it with a few laps.....

It's only an issue with s54 cars isn't it? I've never heard of it being discussed as a 'problem' with the 3ltrs?

It wasn't a joke. I've just never heard of it being discussed with the 3ltr cars?
The 2nd part of your comment I have no idea what you're talking about.

Didn't mean it was a joke buddy

The 3.0 cars don't seem as responsive on the pedal
Nor are they instant with the power
They need wound up I feel

Therefore the M needs a more careful clutch and feathering of loud pedal as totally different engines
M cars are track cars with ability to be used on public roads

All others are road cars hence more drivable to all

Just my opinion

Fair enough.
Personally I don't think it's an issue of less power or throttle sensitivity or anything like that, it's just some strange trait of the s54 driveline. Just because it's powerful doesn't mean that it should kangaroo, I doubt you'll find the same experiences in users of 911gt3s for example, though to be fair I've never checked!

To be honest my, now gone, 3.0 E85 wasnt a problem most of the time - just once in a while it hopped of the line and needed the clutch dipping to correct the situation.

The s54 problem is a bit different (well at least in my experience). It most often happened in low rev situations in 2nd gear (car is rolling already), gentle throttle pickup. The effect can be quite violent on the car if you don't drop the clutch, it can feel like the whole car is bouncing. :o
