K&N Intake filter replacement & review

I just bought a K&N air intake replacement filter and installed it for CDN$48 from my local parts retailer. I've had 91000kms on the car, so the original filters are about due - the K&Ns seem nice and they never need replacement, just cleaning.

Anyways, the engine seems a tiny bit smoother throughout the entire range of rpms - probably mostly mental but I like it. Anyone else have similar experiences with a stock replacement filter? How much did it cost from the dealer?

those who maintain their filters annually normally will not notice THAT much difference, but once i cleaned the K&N filter for my friend's Honda (it was many years old) and he said he noticed that the car was smoother

i normally clean it every year, so i don't think that much crap gets in the filter in 1 year

Be careful when it comes to re-oiling the K&N following cleaning, too much and your air flow/mass meter won't like being coated in oil.

OEM filters are cheap enough to change yearly
