K&N help

I have just received a K&N from the kind marksdesigns on here.

I have the cone and short piece of hose. What is the small plug (sensor style?) just behind the airbox? Is it safe to removor do i need to adapt the filter to fit with the plug in place?

so the k&n wouldnt fit, adapter would cost me £40. so i just got a metal cone filter for £25. i left the bottom half of the stock airbox in place, as the cone sits nicely inside utilising the cold air feed thats in there. im worried about the heat in the engine bay heating the metal cone though. the new filter makes a nice noise but if it feeds hot air through i will be listening to it run like a dog soon

Why not create another cold air feed from the lower grill to the front of the cone to keep it extra cool?

Someone on here did something which looked really good with a sub port for the inlet.

Can't remember who it was now!
