Hi all,

Anyone here have tried, or have an opinion about the KMac camber plates ? I would be interested by the stage 2 : http://www.k-mac.com/pages/newprods/Stage_2.htm

Is it an item just to make the car more beautiful , or is it a real performance part for track use  ?

Any alternatives ?

Thanks in advance for your advices  !

Try getting it set up at centre of gravity or WIM or Dixon motorsport, tell them how you want the car to handle and see what they can achieve

A camber plate kit is definitely not just to make the car prettier. Although it does help in giving more clearance for wider wheels for a meaner look. The point of the camber plates though is to allow the suspension to have much more camber adjustment than stock. It wont change your spring or shock rates obviously but you'll be able to have more options with the stock suspension's geometry. I'll be getting a similar kit eventually myself.

As for the K-Macs well i've not heard of the brand before but that doesnt mean they're not good... Sorry i cant be of more help, i'm sure some of our resident track rats will be along to help shortly. :D

Correct, the camber adjustment kits allow wheel alignments that will correct minor body misalignment, provide settings that suit particular tyres or circumstances or give variation between track and road use.

The K-Mac kits have the added advantage that they allow you to vary the caster setting as well. Most 'camber plates' only have camber adjustment, but K-Mac, who pioneered this business back in 1973 or something (yes, they have been doing it a very long time) are on top of the game with all of this.

If you fit a Stage 2 kit, you will get a good looking all-alloy strut top mount with visible markings in the centre plate that will allow you to vary your settings in minutes. You can record your settings and repeat them at will without even having to jack up the car.

Don't forget, too, that K-Mac make bushings to replace the rear arm bushes that have internal eccentrics in them so you can vary the camber and toe settings on the rear end as well. These are a bit trickier to adjust, but it's still possible to set and re-set for track vs road use.

The other major benefit of these kits is to save on tyre edge wear.
