Just wrote off my p&j

I'd love to get the seats, alloys, cup holders, MFSW but think that may be taking the piss and guess I'd need to replace them?

It's still your car till the insurers pay you, so take whatever you can fit in a van

Seriously though, gutted for you, having written a car off myself, it's a really gash experience. Hope you get things sorted soon

Spearman, gutted for you

I guess you could take anything not declared to the insurance company, but you'd have to replace them I think. As said before Z8cookie recovered some bits from his ///M when it was written off - maybe worth contacting him ?

I have some blanking plates you could have if you recover the cup holders, but I don't think I can get them to you by Monday... Would definitely try to get the seats if you can, but again you'd need replacements I'd have thought, as they might notice they're gone :?

Hope whatever happens you get it sorted out soon though...

sad news :( you probably know lakeside tesco petrol station.

well i came out of there a few weeks back and theres an island in the middle of the road just after the exit. must have hit a patch of oil/diesel as i was only going 5mph and the rear end swung right out and missed the island by millimetres. at that point i turned the DSC back on

i've had my fair share of car accidents and i know it can be annoying and stressful, but at least you'll hopefully get a nice payout and get to enjoy buying another car

So far the write-off experience hasn't been too bad, more inconvenient than anything else. Certainly learnt some lessons!

This forum still surprises me. People are honestly so friendly and helpful on here, which helped me vent to like minded enthusiasts. So thank you z4-forumites.

Think I'll leave the seats in it, and just get the easy bits out. I'll put post in the for sale thread on Monday.

Let me know if anyone wants anything small that I can easily get off.

Confirmed as a write off. I'm going down to the garage on Monday to collect "personal belongings". So, what shall I take from the car?

Dice 100
Dice dsp adapter
BMW rubber matts
Clear side repeaters

Any thing else?

Tax disc! Ttol kit, first aid kit, cruise control stalk?

I'd swap the mfsw if its the chunky m version. I have a standard one that could replace it...

Shame it didn't go to my work as I would have got the seats out for you and swapped them for mine and cash. Need a boot brake light. Mines cracked

Got the tax disc

Skippy, you're welcome to come with me on Monday if you want. Coincidently I have the whole week booked off to sort the house out before I rent it. Garrets bodywork said the insurance company will collect it on Thursday to put it in storage until the claim is settled.

So, we've got a few days if you want to swap the seats.

I'm also going to take the ashtray unit with the roof buttons on and swap it for a faulty one I have.

My 3rd brake light has a crack in it unfortunatly.

The steering wheel isn't the chunky one, but has the radio & phone controls.

My list of bits to do:
- dice 100
- dice dsp
- rubber mats
- swap clear indicators for ginger ones
- swap ashtray unit

Anyone who wants to salvage bits feel free to come along. Pm me.

no probs mate.

If anyone wants the seats the insurance company have said:

We have instructed a salvage company to collect your vehicle. The details are as follows:

Copart
Acrey Fields
Woburn Road

MK43 9EJ
Telephone: 08443750791 As the registered keeper of the vehicle it is your responsibility to notify the DVLA that you are no longer in possession of the vehicle, by completing section 9 of the V5C with the Salvage Company’s details and sending it to the DVLA.

Bummer mate :(

Personally i would try to take as much as you can, seat and M wheel if possible.

The insurance company will try and screw you over anyway they can... the seats and M wheel if you can swap them with someone would make you an easy £400 i would say.

Admiral have paid out £8500, cheques in the post :)

Considering I paid £9k in September I didn't think it's a bad valuation

I have a Dice 100 and dsp adapter for sale, along with some official BMW rubber mats. Pm if you want them.

That doesn't sound to bad a deal, I'd say... it's good that they've sent payment so promptly too...

I've heard so many horror stories about insurance companies, but I've been seriously impressed with the whole thing. From phoning them whilst on the side of the road to collection of the vehicle and payment. It's all gone very smoothly indeed.
