My Discovery 3 was fitted with Pirelli std rubber when it left the showroom - they lasted until 20k when they were goosed!
I fitted Vredestein wintracs at that point and 21k miles later they still look good - I would guess about 5-6mm tread depth.

Like most, I had the fear af rapid wear rates but I needn't have worried.

(That's with 2900kg of car depending on them)

My M135i came with MPSS as standard although you could spec NRFs as an option. If I go for another will definitely be speccing runflats, I have a love hate relationship with the Michelins but generally fed up with them and never liked the thought of relying on a can of hopeless foam.

Problem with RFT tyres is the moment you have any sidewall damage then you can't trust the tyre to run flat! Got it a little wrong & bumped up a full height kerb... light scuffs on the sidewall, especially round the shoulder? Well if you have a puncture you now have to treat that tyre like it's a non-RFT tyre!
