I love that film. It's a great watch now because it's so dated and even though I've seen it multiple times I still cry over the robots

I thought gravity was both stunning and gripping, if you've ever thought you were having a bad day think again! but I can't see it working in anything less than 3D. Great entertainment.

Apollo 13 had a great story, all the more so because it really happened. The script was excellent, the acting top notch and we really cared about those involved because the characters were beautifully developed.

Gravity had absolutely no character development, Sandra Bullock barking, a command module tumbling end over end during re-entry, a parachute that would never have inflated, some stupid dream sequence, and a ridiculous sequence of events that saw our hero hopping from space station to space station to save herself. He'll, she even did an 'eeny meeny' thing to guess which buttons to hit.

Yes it looked pretty, but that is in no way enough to justify the rave reviews it has received. Also, for what it's worth, I thought Avatar was garbage too.

Edited to add that if a movie needs to be seen in IMAX to be appreciated then it is a poor movie. I could watch Shawshank or Goodfellas on a black and white portable and still be gripped.

I speak as a fan of Top Gun, Bond, Bourne and Top Gear and am regularly described as a big kid who should grow up so please judge my review accordingly

Yeah, Dark Star was good. A bit hippie but Bruce Dern is/was great.

Watched it in 3d and IMAX and thought it was phenomenal. Ok so the story is slow and simple but the effects were amazing

And it was made in the UK !!
