Just to let you all know took my Z in to have some work done
at the same time asked them to look at the wear on the side of the
leather seats after only 5800 miles.
Thought they would tell me it was wear and tear but they said it
was a fault in the leather and would replace it under warranty. :thumbsup:

So if you have the same problem a call to your dealer maybe in order.

I had mine dyed then replaced by my dealer. The work had to be approved by some BMW NA regional dude. They agreed to do it once. They then taught me how to put my arse in the seat with minimal bolster contact.

My bolsters are fine at the mo, but I'd be interested to see these pictures.

OOh! Mine looks just like that...Only WORSE!!! I'm going to ask the dealer to replace the leather when it goes in for 1st service in a few weeks time.

The thing is i've got a narrow butt too but still manage to damage it. Damn my narrow garage space.
