Lovely car Lucy! Auto box seems like a good idea for such a good engine anyway. And you get a coupe and roadster all in one. I think its a better car to live with TBH.
Lucy said:Anyway, many thanks for everyone's input, I would reply to each of you individually but there is quite a lot so I will try to reply to everyone as a whole here. I've taken everything on board and think I have decided to stick with my coupe for a bit longer. You're quite right that 42k is a bit steep for it. I know I could wangle a bit off, i'm good at wangling :? but still, I have to admit I would prefer one that is around 12 months old. When the salesman said they had one in stock and would fetch it, I was hoping it would be on a '60 plate.
Not to mention that I haven't even been looking for a new car anyway and am perfectly happy with the coup. So it's not like i'm desperate for a new car. I just knew that when I do eventually come to upgrade that I would want it to be a white 35i with red leather. So when he said they had one in stock I was very intrigued and quite excited by the prospect. But I need to be 100% sure and it needs to be 100% the one for me. And I think it might be if it were 12 months old and probably with a manual box. I don't want to buy an auto and then wish i'd held off a bit until I came across a manual.
Plus, the more I look at my Coup, the sexier it gets. I would seriously miss it. I don't think I can say goodbye to it just yet! After driving it places over the weekend, I compared it to the 35 i'd drove on Friday and they are a very different beast. I don't think I need the extra comfort of the 35 just yet... there's still more fun to be had in the coup and I know i'd miss it's raw edge.
So there we have it, i'll not be changing it just yet. But if I do come across the perfect 35i on a 59 or 60 plate, then I may have to look into it again. In the meantime I think I will treat myself to a private reg and a new pair of shoes instead![]()
Thanks again for all of your replies, I appreciate them and they did help me with my decision. Have I made the right one?

Wizardskills said:I personally wouldn't bother. It seems very expensive for not that much of an upgrade. If i were you and i had £28k in my pocket for a car, I would keep the Coupe and get something much more focused as a weekend toy. £28k buys you a lot of car![]()

I'd hate driving an old model of anything.....that's just me. Shoot me....but just my humble opinion that's all. Mr brother in law has an E86, and I know it fecks him right off every time he sees me driving the E89
