If that is the case the DVLA should consider their policies and procedures. If your car is SORN and confirmed as such by the DVLA then they take the monies it is their responsibility to refund the customer as soon as possible. Usually after 10 working days have elapsed by BACS which is a further 4 working days. If he cancels he direct debit now and still received such a letter then it's clear that their systems are not fit for purpose.

Plus they are also supposed to cancel the customers direct debit at their end once they've processed the request. So it should already be cancelled but I highly doubt it has been.

But I expect nothing less from the DVLA, they've made progress but not enough.

Oh and you don't have to cancel your direct debit to claim under the direct debit Gurantee but if you don't want any further incorrect payments taken then cancelling it is the best option.
 
Just SORN the roadster, so now both coupe and roadster are off the road, i may re tax the coupe tomorrow
 
Sorned mine last Friday - All tucked away in the garage with a battery maintenance charger clipped on. Dust sheet soon!
The MOT runs out in December so I will wait and get a new certificate in March or April

Happy for you but no smiley face for me :( had my last blast out today for at least 8 weeks & most probably be 12 :cry: gave it a good clean after & its tucked up in garage now with blanket over roof & kingsize duvet over bonnet & grill :oops: don't want a chill getting to it :roll:

but will you last, i find the fact that its not taxed is like a tease, it makes me want to drive it even more lol
 
Mine's now SORN too.

The front end has all recently been re-sprayed, so its gone away to let the paint harden properly, ready for spring.


 
Yeah. I was chuffed to bits when I went to pick it up, Especially as it was only the local Dingmaster ( but they had come well recommended)
Cost me £490, but that included the front nose and spoiler, plus they they did the rear wing which had a trolley dink right on the top of the wheel arch and a few scratches and a dimple all in the same panel.

I've had it almost a year now and with the Wheel refurb and now the paint work sorted it's all coming together to look the bees knees. I'm going for an Inspection 1 plus brake fluid change at the beginning of March and then its ready for summer.

The other winter project is coming along nicely too, so all's well fella !
 
my M as been touched up by my brother in law, looking forwad to getting it back, no idea what he as done yet
 
Got mine out for a quick blast yesterday while the weather was good. I realised how much I have missed the power and handling so I cannot wait for the 1st of Jan either which I decided I'm going to tax it again :D
