Not usually in this predicament , generally i always have my next motor planned but i,m all over the place right now .
Put up our X3 last week & just sold to first viewer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291065216464?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Looking for something useful for french jaunt,s , dog walking & general all rounder .
It,s used by mrs w 99% of the time & currently chucking in £30 a week for her 40/50 miles seemed crazy so on a whim last week i advertised it
Last 3 motors have been Golf GT tdi , 520D tourer & 330D tourer

Missed out on a cracking A4 S line avant yesterday

Congrats on the quick sale andy

I cant think of a replacement for you at the moment as you have experienced some good allround beemers previously as it is.

Wish I'd known, my wife might have been talked into that at £5k Andy... Currently trying to work out how to get her in a newer car, for reduced dinero....

Good luck with that one mate

Ive just realised that women should stick to shopping & men to choosing motor,s !
After 3 hours around lots of garages on a scouting mission mrs w just wants the X3 to stay :?

I,m just looking to go a bit newer & bit better economy , kids are now 18 & 22 so hardly ever come anywhere with us but we do need some space for the 3 / 4 french trips + terrier etc , ,

the search will continue , , , , , ,

Hmmm. Perhaps you should restrain your 'whims' next time

Have fun

Not kept that long Andy, A4 Avant is a lovely looking car IMO

Long for me D :D got it last June , , ,
My first Audi experience with the TT has got to me & would like to try another as the family car , really like the A6 Avant,s but maybe a bit big ?
Missed a good looking S line A4 yesterday but on a 55 a bit older than ideal .

I have a couple in my sight,s 8) big incentive to sort something quick as mrs w will be in the TT from Tuesday  with its freshly painted alloys i put on last week :o

Cant believe you have had it since June! it seems like yesterday that I remember looking at the pics when you first had it...how time tanks by.

If you like the old shape A4, Have a look at Seat Exeos, esp the Estate (ST) 140, 170 Diesels, 210 TFSI ( althought they're hen's teeth) and a lot younger for the same money.

Bit of a Parts Bin Special. A4 90%. A4 Cab Dash, A6 front suspension, few new panels chucked on each end.
But they don't pull the unreliable bits out of the parts bin for a "new " car do they?

I am biased as I lease one, but 50+mpg on a run, leather Nav and BT on anything called "tech"

Try to get a Post '10 model as they have a bit more rear leg room to help stop the grunting and huffing from the yoofs in the back

Just noticed you have a A6 Avant in your signature Andy, got any piccies to share? :D

Yeah Lee & have to say whilst a late comer to the whole Audi party there is still much left in the fridge for me to drink
Really like it so far & even mrs w has admitted it is a massive step forward from the X3 in terms of drive & cabin layout ( she is the main user )
Only got it last weekend & first dry day today , no pics yet but they will be posted when the car is "ready" :D its on SE spec so wheels need to go from 17,s to 18,s & arch gap needs to drop around 30mm .

Would,nt have got anywhere near what i have in S Line spec for same money so i reckon a spend of £1000 all in will still leave me well up & a car to cherish ??? Who know,s ?

So the list as follows

Eibach lowering springs / ordered & booked for fitting this Friday
Service & multitronic oil change booked for this Friday
Rear privacy tints / done
New alloys / pending
Full polish & wax / that,s me
Remap / last job when other boxes are ticked

Great stuff it sounds spot on & pleased you are both happy with it  looking forward to the pictures when its ready. :)

It,s been a busy couple of weeks since the arrival of the Avant / hearse :D Many will hate it but we like it & for what we want it for there can be no complaints & was a good bit less than the equivalent BMW , feel,s much more sprightly as well than our 520d Sport tourer did ?
Had it into my BM indy yesterday for oil+filter/multitronic service /lowering springs & also slipped on it,s new shoes 8) (cue the REP V OEM debate )
Wheels are made by ZCW who also manufacture alloys for BMW so does this make them reps ? Dunno but i,l let you know if they disintegrate once ive washed them
