Just saying hi!

Well hello and welcome.
Any more details?
What sort do you want? Engine size? Auto or manual? Pre- or post-facelift?
Colour?
Spec?
Budget?

So many questions, so little time.
But rest assured you've come to the right place.

Haha thanks for the welcome!

Looking for an E85 manual.
Silver, would consider blue or black.
2.5si or 2L. Must be Sport model.
Oyster/grey interior, would consider all red. Maybe black interior but the car would need to be special.
Full service history
Max 3 owners
Max 60k miles

My budget is around 6k. I know I'm being rather particular but that's why I'm here :D

Thanks

Crikey, that’s a bit varied. Why a 2.5Si or a 2.0l when you have a 2.2i, 2.5i pre-LCI, 2.5i post-LCI, and potentially a 3.0i in between? By the way all those are 6-cyl except the 2.0l which is a 4-cyl. And why must it be Sport?

Anyway, welcome to the forum. You are quite likely to find what you re looking for on here.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Good luck finding the right one, and once you do don't forget we like to see photos!

Hi and welcome to the forum and good luck with your search, keep an eye on the for sale adverts on here

Thank you all!!

Apologies, I meant to say anything between a 2.0L and 2.5si
@zedebee, you say a 3.0i in-between? What am I missing here? Still learning about the e85. Please do enlighten me.
And I want the Sports seats. Not crazy about it being even lower as I live in Central London. But they look soo much nicer, to me at least

Thanks

The original Z4s came with a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine or a 6 cylinder in 2.2i, 2.5i and 3.0i models and those M-Sport seats you are after were an option hardly anybody seems to have specified - BMW called the standard seats "Sport Seats". The 6 cylinder cars use the same engine just in different sizes so running costs are pretty much the same.

In 2006 there was a facelift (LCI) and still a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder or three 6 cylinder options, 2.5i, 2.5Si and 3.Si which all used the same engine in 2 sizes and two different states of tune in the 2.5 litre ones.

But facelift models came in SE and Sport trim and the M-Sport seats were standard in the Sport models as well as M-Sport suspension that is 15mm lower and a bit stiffer and an M-Sport steering wheel with a thicker rim.

But you might find an early one someone has fitted with the M-Sport seats or a facelift SE that had them as an option.

Personally I'd stick to the 6 cylinder models because a straight 6 is one of the Z4s unique features - there are other 4 cylinder Roadster rivals.

Hopefully that may help you decide what to look for!

Mr Tidy, thank you so much!!

This info is priceless!! I will probably need to read a few times before I take it all in.
Another kind person made the suggestion of fitting the seats I want into the pre face-lift. Seems like this may make my search a lit easier.

I'm thinking to find the a nice 2.2i or 2.5i and fit them with the seats and steering wheel I desire. But the steering wheel may not match the lighter dashboard that tends to be in the pre face-lift :?

It may be easier to find one and swap the seats, but bear in mind the M-Sport ones don't come cheap!

You could always have the steering wheel refurbished by Jack at Royals with a thicker rim if you wanted. I've not used them but others have with good results:- http://royalsteeringwheels.com/
