Hi Guys,

Firstly thanks for all the help in the run up to buying my new little pocket rocket - much appreciated and i hope to return the favour with all i learn!

Last night i picked up a gorgeous MY03, 3.0i with only 29k with plenty of toys - 5mths BMW warranty, Sat Nav + TV, Heated Elec Red Leather, Carver, Parking Sensors , Xenons and just about everything else except for the Wind Blocker and Cruise (first on the shopping list!) The drive back was a little strange with it not really feeling 'mine' yet coupled with coming from something like a Lotus Elise! Bloody hell the thing tramlines a LOT!! I read all the reviews about this and skittish handling thinking "Cant be as bad as a VX220" and how wrong I was lol. Oh well; I can live with it!

Otherwise its a beautiful car, i LOVE the interior. Very comfy for an average weight 6' 2" er. I also managed a MIGHTY 45.5mpg (imperial, indicated) on the 90mile trip home at ~60mph, ohh yeah!!

Lets hope i can settle in it! Piccies to come!

Nice one Ed - hope to join you very shortly in experiencing exactly the same - I hope to pickup a 3.0i within the next few days or weeks.....can't wait!! :D Good to hear about the MPG n'all.

tramlining... what are the tyres ? :)

enjoy.. great time to buy a great value car. just had an awesome roof down blast in mine and I'm about to do another 130mile trip to london in it.. :D

Haha no joke on the 45.5mpg! It was actually reading 49 before all the town blasting :o

The tyres are Potenza RE050's. Had the RE040's on the VX and didn't rate them at all in the wet. :(

Thanks for the welcome guys, If anyone sees a Wind breaker thingy going spare; please can you holla!

Clearly its faulty, but who cares, these cars are not about MPG :) Enjoy it

Agreed, but yeah it's faulty, if your blasting it eventually should be no where's near 45. Only time you get close to that is highway (after reaching cruise speed-flat road), and best I could do was about 35mpg going about 65.

As far as Tramlining, yeah that's due to your runflat tires. they are notorious for it, check your air pressures with those tires. You should be at 32 psi fronts and 36psi rears. That will help a bit with tramlining. Or you could just get new tires (non-runflats).

Congrats on the buy!
