Evening all... So just picked up My first Z tonight, 2004 3.0L pulls well and all seems good, I gave the engine a little rev in the garage with the bonnet up and noticed what sounded like it was suckling in air ! So had a look and found a split pipe by the air mass and on from that towards the bulk head a colapsed pipe

not sure what either do ? I'm guess their breather pipes of some sort ?
Any help appreciated
cheers
Steve

Hi. When I first looked at the car it was daylight so I jacked it up and looked at what I could but the guy wasn't home so couldn't open it... then I had to go back later that evening in the dark to finish off looking it over so missed it.... It was actually still in its place which is a small rubber hose which looks like it's joined to the large pipe that goes into the air mas, but it's badly split, this then joins by the pipe that is callapsed just at the inlet manifold... the callapsed pipe then looks like it runs over to the brake servo ...

That colapsed pipe is a common issue, had it on mine when I first got it... can't rememebr the cost, but wasn't that pricey direct from BMW.
