Just picked up a new 28i!

Excellent choice sir,

Same as mine, can't make out the interior colour, mine is walnut

I can't stream music but prefer the usb solution anyway. It's always ready and I don't have to do anything.

The 28i engine is a great compromise between power and economy

Enjoy

Great motor, enjoy!

It's a real buzz when people pay compliments, I find it happens often when parking up.

Don't know about music over Bluetooth, I just put all my iTunes files on a USB stick and plug into the socket under the armrest, works well through Idrive.

A quickie taken last night before the sun disappeared. I'll try and take some more shots this weekend...

Very nice Phil you enjoy, love the mineral grey  regarding Bluetooth it is long winded check your manual its quite clear, but in my opion you get better sound using a y cable you get on Amazon for £10 :D

Or just get a mem stick, I use window audio lossless

A 32G memstick can hold quite a lot of music, I just leave it attached to the to the usb port .. you can also use WAV files but take more memory space .. but for the car WMA lossless codec is fine .. lovely shine on your car as well

Lovely car - I wanted that colour but the better half turned me to the Valencia orange.

I have a 2014 2.8i M sport also and the bluetooth works fine with my iPhone 6+, it has the profession system - not sure if that is the difference?

Thanks Mike! You know at first I wasn't sure about the colour, thought I might prefer something brighter, but I'm really loving it now and have had some nice compliments. Also very happy with the 28i. I realise it's not as much punch as a 35i but compared to my old E85 2.0 I'm finding it a great drive.

From the research I've done, you need the "Enhanced Bluetooth" to get the music streaming, which I don't have. I can place music from my phone by just using the normal iPhone lightning cable and plugging it into the USB in the armrest - I get all playlists, album art etc so that's cool. I might invest in a Tune2Air as that seems to be act as a missing link if I want to play the music over Bluetooth.

From the runs I have done with the forum neither the 3.5i or Z4M will leave you for dead! The 2.8i is quite a bit lighter - are you sure the bluetooth doesn't work?

where are you based?

Wow that looks great Phil, love the colour, stunning!!

I don't think you can Bluetooth music, I can't in mine, 2015 car, but I could be wrong. There's a USB and AUX socket under the armrest and if you have I drive a USB in the glove box up to the right hand side.

More pics when you get chance please.
For my previous 28i I purchased a USB cable which was only an inch or so long and plugged into the Aux socket in the arm rest meant you have all your music and phone lists via the I drive and full control via the steering wheel.

Great looking motor and no doubt a very pleasing "up grade" :poke:

I'm based in Northamptonshire, in a village just outside of Kettering. Hoping to make it to a meet at some point :driving:

Yeah pretty certain on the bluetooth thing. The options others mention just don't appear no matter what I try, I just get the phone calls/address book.

Took a quick snap as the sun was going down last night. Not the cleanest bonnet due to rain earlier but I liked the colours it was reflecting:

Good luck

Thanks Mike, sadly I don't get the options as seen on that video (i.e. no tick box for audio), so it's back to the cable for me.

I have the same problem with mine, no advanced bluetooth thus no streaming, just phone.

I have a bluetooth dongle in my armrest which goes into the aux and powered from the lighter socket in there, with some stubby little cables. It'll give you better audio than the tune2air or whatever they are called. Want some links to dongles and cables?

I have bluetooth audio, but to be honest always use the lightning connector as cannot change tracks using idrive through Bluetooth so far better using cable, plus it charges the phone.
