Did you strip the calipers off their mounts - or just paint them in situ?
I must admit I took the easy option and painted them in situ but when the pads need replacing I'll probably strip them and paint the rest.

If I did mine I'd use green paint a la skoda vrs. But that said, I have a black car and black rims. Green would only work on a limited number of colours I think.

mine are red toooo!!!! Ap racing custom Red 6pot front 4 pot rear ;-) 370mm front rotors and 328 rear.

can beat the real thing.

not sure about the red painted ones all the same. bit nasty for such a nice car

I loved the red brembos on my black r26 but I have just done my z4 in silver because I wanted to maintain the oem look and also I have a blue car and wasnt sure about red calipers looking right.

Beedub - Now I suffer brake envy.

Actually this is good because paint or not is one of those personal things. Some like it and some not. I actually think the Zed can take painted calipers well, as it's a powerful sports car. Sat next to a young guy at the ligths yesterday and he had painted rear drums on his Corsa and made me smile, but he was happy with his car - well until the lights went green.

Anyway here's my effort to throw into the pool, which I love the results of:

(3.0Si larger 'EBC Ultimax' discs, grenstuff pads, E46 330 larger calpers in Halfords red brake paint:

perfect for this colour car IMO although I would love to see montego blue with red calipers. Photoshop anyone?

Yes - wheel off, protect the disc surfaces, quick rub with a brush, wash with a sponge, wipe with degreaser then applied a single coat of hammerite smooth and wheel back on. Takes about 45min a wheel.

Unlike most people, I also painted the back faces of the brake pads.

Just need to do the hubs next time.

CJ - gorgeous zed matey 8) red calipers really suit.

R26Andy - think the silver suits yours well. After seeing that pic I think I might go for silver on mine too (as I don't have nice big discs etc like CJ)

Thanks - looks really wicked now I've at last got Aero skirts too.

Remember once you've done the work of cleaning the dirt off and painitng them you could change the colour in an hour all round if you didn't like the results. Silver is a good safe choice as it looks very OEM and gets rid of all that rust and dirt.

cj, lovely Zed we need to meet @ curborough soon for a chat :-)

Sure do

Just PM me when you plan on going up, or drop by for coffee as I work from home in Shenstone most days.

My daughters boyfriend and mates hired Curborough for the day 2 weeks ago to race their Lotus and I missed it as I was working away that day
