 Shepshed
Well it’s time I upgraded the suspension, have standard shocks with eibach springs at the moment but guess the shocks are a bit tired as the cars gone 117k !!!

Already replaced lower wish bones with heavy duty ones, poly bushes done too.

Gone for spring rating of 7/8kg

Does the rear top mount area not need reinforcing for these, or are they a straight swap?

Mike, straight swap I hope, will let you know when fitting.

It's a straight swap.

Mac - good thing you've gone for adjustable droplinks - the ones that come with the BC's aren't so good.

I ask as the ones in your pic have a "proper" coilover for the rears, which I don't think I've seen before, aren't they normally an adjustable shock and a "std" sprig at the rear? Was wondering if the rear top mount area would be strong enough to take the load from the spring, as it wasn't originally designed to carry the "weight" of the car, if you know what I mean.

Mac I'd be interested on your thoughts on the quality of the adjustable rear arms as they seem really good value if theyre ok. The arms seem to range in price from anything from this upto about £300 etc and im not sure you really get anything more for your money.

The main differences between adjustable arms are the weight of them and ease of adjustability. The turner ones I have are aluminium and weigh significantly less than the steel ones, and they are adjustable very easily near the wheel. With the ebay ones adjustment will be more of a pain particularly if the exhaust gets in the way (not sure of the layout on a regular e85), for instance on an m3 e46 exhaust needs to be dropped to adjust. You might also wonder about the quality of the steel used and whether the yield analysis of the piece has been correctly computed, remember standard arms are designed to bend in an accident in order to protect other less sacrificial parts of the car.
That said I think a lot of people use them without issue.
You can see here how the adjustment is different on Turner/GC etc.
