the link i put up before had the fan going at 20mph and he got good gains.and it doesn't look like he has any affiliation with the company

and pvr. i see what u mean doesn't look as flat in the second pic. mine comes quite far forward compared to yours though. did you try yours with the original filter before you put in your rpi one???
 
No, I used the BMC one straight away so I do not know what exactly caused the induction noise increase.
