...that after owning my 35i for a while now and driving around this weekend in the sun with the roof down, I LOVE this car!!

The way it goes (and it goes very well!!), the sound from the exhaust when up the top of the rev range with the roof down and the burble at car park speeds and the way it it drives and even the way it attracts so much attention!!

If there is a better car out there in this sector at the moment, I haven't driven it yet! 8)

I saw Tiff and Jason testing Porsche Cayman S and BMW 135i Coupe on FifthGear. I couldn't believe Cayman S lost. Is the latest Porsche Boxster the only car which may better than E89?

There is nothing like it when listening to the exhaust in a convertible

Lewis tunnel - a Sussex run favourite

Think the speed limit is 30, but I keep missing the sign

we are doing it this weekend, oh of course your not coming :poke:

Yes - I will be driving in the rain in Scotland whilst you are floating in Sussex like last time :poke:

My wife cracks up at me as I switch down a gear or two whenever I go through a tunnel (Clyde tunnel is fantastic). Above 3-4k revs the sound is truly wonderful.
Radio noise problem is not an issue for me as its never on when roof down as I love to listen to it.

Having said that it makes a terrible insipid noise when cold until up to temperature. Mine also has a small flat spot just above 3k revs when cold in each gear.
Mibbee down to having to get speed up quick as My drive comes out onto a 70mph dual carraigeway, so need to accelerate right away (not ideal TBH but no other way round it) Does this turn off the auto choke type thingy  (if there is one)

Have just handed back the i-35m thingy I had as courtesy car, It was nice whilst it lasted. Wasn't sure about the look of the rear end, too jelly mould for my liking. However, roof up and from side view, it is gut wrenchingly handsome. It attracted a lot of "I hate you, you bas***rd, for having such a great looking car" looks.

Yes, a lovely noise that made you put your foot down....."Sorry officer, it made me do it". It spluttered a lot on startup, like a Spit' firing up at scramble. But smoothed off to a growl as you pulled away.

Mrs liked it, and she NEVER EVER comments on a car. Trust her to like one costing the best part of £40k !!!

I hate to tell you this also, the iS is 10db louder throughout the rev range :) :driving:

mcbeee - How many extra bhp can you get from remap?

78HP , the end result is 384hp and 425 ft lbs torque although I've been told by a coworker with a 335 remap of the same engine that with higher octane fuel it can go as high as 410hp. I'll believe it when I see it though...

It all seemed fairly tame when I was standing next my friends Z06 "Vette listening to his 505 hp, idling through the headers. What a sweet sound that was....

So if the iS is 10bd louder you mean it is actually more than 3 times louder than the standard - I don't think so

In the brochure it states the car is 10db louder than the standard 35i

Ah but s has the silly gearbox and uglier rear bumper ;) lol

Joking aside, I guess the s could be louder at the top end. Mines loud enough mind, especially on start up!
