Hi all,

Just signed up - I've been a bit of a lurker the past several months as been interested in the z4M section . . . .

We are going to have to sell our Z4MC (it's my wife's car) which we have owned for the past six years  Love the car but we need something bigger that can also take a roof rack. Before the Z4MC we also had a Z4 Coupe 3.0Si which was also a good car - just not a patch on the "M". So a bit of a Z4 fanbase in our house.

Thought I would sign up as will be seeking some advice from other members in terms of market value, chances of selling private vs. part exchange etc.

Probably looking at Spring if we don't p/x, as folk have advised that winter is not the best time of year to sell a sports car.

Welcome to the forum. You're doing this the wrong way round: you're suppose to join after buying a Zed or before buying a Zed :D
Anyway I'm sure you will get valuable advice on market values and how best to sell you Z4MC etc

Haha like marlon said a bit backwards. Welcome along and hopefully this great community can convince you to keep it.

Welcome to the forum.

Get the car spec, mileage, service history etc up and someone will be able to give a rough price.

Great cars and priced right they don't hang around long.

as a lurker i'm sure you must have read plenty of for sale adds so you know what effort you need to put into selling your car

Thanks all. We may end up keeping it a while longer as struggling to find something else we'd be happy with (or my wife is)

We've recently taken up kayaking and it would be useful to have two cars that can take roof bars so that we can put one at each end of a route, therefore we can paddle faster rivers without the issue of tackling upstream.

Must be the worst reason ever to have to consider selling a Z4M :-D

Have one car with roof rack and keep the Z4M.
Leave the Z4M downstream, drive upstream in the car with the roof rack & Kayak, then paddle down stream to meet up back with the Zed. Then one of you waits with the Kayak and the other jumps in the Zed and drives back up stream to the car with the roof rack, swaps cars, comes back in the car with the roof rack, you load the kayak and then both drive back up to rendezvous with the Z4M. That way you keep the Zed and even get lots of extra driving in it.
:driving: :D

Or you do what we do. Drop canoes up stream and leave Mrs with them. Drive to your finish point and leave the car with the roof bars down stream (vw tiguan). I then get a taxi back to start point. Sounds expensive but as rivers usually twist and turn a 3 hour downstream paddle usually takes a car 10 mins.

Marlon, Roundozo, food for thought. I had pondered both these options but seemed a bit unwieldy, although selling a car you love for the sake of a new hobby isn't ideal either! We started off with a Gumotex high-pressure inflatable which solved the issue, it's a pretty decent boat but not very comfortable for more than a couple of hours on the water. Then we went to hard-shells which are a big improvement but of course you then need to rooftop them.

Cheers for your input, appreciated.
