... just had to fill up three cans as going on holiday soon and need petrol to gey me to the airport, not losing all that money."

I have just copied this from a friend-of-a-friend's status on Facebook and I am seething.

Yesterday was a truly horrible day, I got a call just before 7am advising me that my grandma who had ben poorly but stable, was very ill and only had hours to live. I live in Berkshire, and my Grandma was in Yorkshire, so I had a 200mile/3hr+ journey to do, and because of knob-heads like this, following moronic politicians advice, I had to queue for petrol, all the time not knowing if I'd make the journey in time to say goodbye to my Grandma. Fortunately I made it in time, but there will be other people faced with the same scenario that didn't and don't make it, because of these idiots who don't need fuel panic buying. I could understand it more if a strike has been announced, but it hasn't. :headbang: And we're probably going to have the same issues when it comes to Grandma's funeral.

Rant over, thanks for letting me spout.
Rach

Sorry to hear of your loss. Not surprised you were seething. if there was strike definitely coming this weekend it would be more justifiable, but I can't help but feel stupid this whole thing has been when there's not even been a strike date announced.

I had to fill up yesterday as my fuel light was on, I felt like an idiot having to que up with all panic buying muppets, I use a full tank per week so next week when I am queuing up again for a full tank, everybody will be queuing to top their 3/4 tanks upto full :headbang:

i had to get fuel yesterday and was forced to que with the grey brigrade,,, they must have come out on mass to fill up, the two people in front of me had the grand sum of 12 and 14 pounds worth of petrol :headbang: and one of those was a massive caravette thing they prob used that much queing :x

rhodesey35iM, sorry to hear of your loss. Can understand the frustration of being delayed by muppets.. and the whole situation just has the tanker drivers and media grinning; tanker drivers because we now know the power these guys have; the media because they've got a story that will run for days (on a situation they have created)...

Think you read the post wrong ... she did not lose anyone, she is going on holiday :D

cj_eds and markeg - thanks for the sympathies, horrible time but for the best, doesn't make it any less hard tho!

And I got stung at a whopping 147.9 per litre on way home too, but what can you do, I needed to fill up! And you're right oli445, I did feel embarassed stopping with all the numpties!

Sorry to hear that.

Latest announcement is that there will be no strikes over Easter. I wonder if this will stop the queues. I hope so

Surely it will get to the point that everyone has a full tank ???? so the queing would stop??...

Yup. I've a quarter of a tank. usually id think about filling up about now. figuring its enough to last the weekend so I'll wait till the blue rinse brigade have got over it and the garages are quiet because everyone's full - assuming there's some left!!

Was nearly late for work this morning because panic buyers were blocking the road outside the petrol station. Just gave a disapprovihg shake of the head.

Driving along the A59 last night the Esso station was heaving .....Low and behold a mile down the road the Shell station was run dry. How the Press and Government cause caos :headbang:

Rach, sorry to hear of your woes. I thought I heard that the strike was off today. Hopefully the muppets will stop with the queuing now...

LOL, this is hilarious.... not so much the fuel situation but all these people who didn't read the post properly

Friend just came round (Ambulance Driver) - they had to refuel yesterday evening and had problems with the queuing. When they finally got to the pump, some muppet was filling his car and three massive containers full of fuel - showed me a photo on his iPhone, and they don't look legal - must be at least 30 litre containers if not bigger!
