My thinking is that it's maybe a coil pack showing the first signs of death (each spark plug has a coil pack attached to it, and they're famous for failing. A new one (part number: 12131712219) will cost you about £45, and I've no idea on diagnosis - sorry).

You're right - blasting around in the Zed with the roof down, tunes up, in the sun is a great way to relax after a crappy day :D

Hahahah I know - thank god it it hasn't had any hiccups since the 3 earlier in the day. I was just testing the engine through the entire rev range when I overtook you haha! I know there is a 40 there... It is a bit silly as it isn't exactly a blind corner. The reason they changed it to 40 is because there was a head on collision which caused a fatality a few years back.
