Just had first MOT...FAILED!!!

Why did you not get the MOT done at the BMW dealer? Mine charges the "legal" excessive charge anyway. (Point to note that MOT is about 4 times the price here as it is on mainland Europe ...).

I had it serviced at the same time and the garage where I got it serviced came recomended from a friend so I thought I'd get the MOT done at the same time.

Mine is an 07' plate but under the hood it has a build date of 2006... I take it my warranty will be taken as 3 years from the date given under the bonnet?

I'm worried after reading this thread....

3 years from date of registration I would've thought... not much can go wrong before then.

and mine has sailed through all three of its' MOT's so far :D

won't the place that did the MOT be the last place that had the wheels off, they were the ones who informed you the pads were low?

I would question them about it, as its both incompetent and dangerous.

Never seen car wheels removed for an mot. There's no need.

I would never get the MOT done at the main dealer if a car is under warranty there. They will simply pass it. Even in this instance they said they would have passed it on the ball joints, so they would not have replaced them.

This mixed up wheel on the car is just incompetent by someone to have done it then the MOT not to spot it.

I am surprised that there is no rubbing on the front. Mine would not revolve when I mated a rear 108 to the front wheel, touching both the suspension strutt on the rim and tyre.

All my MOT was advised on was tyres but I knew this anyway, local independant bloke but no reason to lie about anything?

as for having odd wheels on my sister had two brand new front tyres fitted with the tread pattern going the wrong way.

It wasnt until I went with her to have the back ones done the bloke noticed and kindly swopped them around, thats the difference between good garages and cowboys.

Kford tyres

Gornal tyres
