Just had a call....

Pondrew

Lifer
 Spaldingski
from the wife to say someone has run into the back of her on a roundabout and wanting to know what to do.

Then.....she says "it's a good job I took your car to work today, not my Z4"!!! :o :o

I didn't even realise she had taken my car (she would have only taken it because it will have had petrol in it)!

I just know this going to cost me money.

Yep - photos. Especially if you are near any of the "cash for crash" part of the population.

I can just see the headline:

"Wife bashed up the ass without husband's consent."

The bloke that hit her has said he will pay for the damage. I think he might change his mind when he realises how much a new complete rear bumper and paint is for an F31. I am guessing £1,500 fitted.

He broke his van's front number plate. That is it!

We shall see!

Sounds like a genttle-ish shunt. As long as the Mrs is OK. You'll remain a lucky man  . The rest is just money and can be sorted. :)

Its not always a bad thing, about 8 years ago my wife got shunted at the lights, both insurances were dragging their feet, I had an itch to scratch and went to look at a couple of E46 M3's, got chatting to a couple of petrol heads and came home with my roadster. A couple of days later the cheque came through the post, I made a profit and I love that car. :driving:

Just seen this Andy. Main thing is Heather is OK. When I started to read the post I thought it was going to be the Z. Is this an excuse for another new car?

Wives always cost you money. Its what they do

Sad news but at least nobody was injured, well until your OH got home!

Exactly what happened to me. Unsurprisingly the other driver went off the idea of paying when I called to tell him a new rear bumper cover for my E90 was £650 from BMW in primer.

Yes, "this one's broken, give me another". :)

Now you're quoting Smartbear!

How long before your next "what car" thread?

I knew it was someone on here, but couldn't remember who!
I will admit to having the 'six month itch'. Nothing out there that takes my fancy, without it costing a LOT more, though. And It will be the same in six months anyway. Changing cars this often becomes a very expensive hobby, which can't be sustained unfortunately.

I know! That's probably why now I'm retired I've had my daily over 5 years and my Z4 more than 4 years.

I have had my Z4 parked in my garage for nigh on 2 years. I enjoy thinking about all the money I have saved.
