Just got my Z4 3.0i SE, New to this Forum

Yea got an extremely good deal on it. Very please to hear that, fuel consumption is my only worry :) but if I feather the throttle, I get more miles than my old car so its all good. Will be looking after it for sure, she's my new baby heh. Clear front clusters next plus some brighter bulbs i think :). What are these cars like on oil? Should i be checking the oil levels once a month or something then? I see on the dashboard it says 9000 miles before next inspection or something, but i'm guessing thats not oil

They dont use much oil, but it's not known for my engine (same as yours) to use a litre after a 1,000 miles of hard driving. Economy wise you should easily be getting 30mpg with careful driving. I've only ever been as low as 22mpg on a run and that was "spirited" driving. De-gingering the front end should be a priority, and will take years off the look of the car. 9,000 is interval to next service, check the history to see if it's oil service or inspection etc

Welcome on board :)

Really looks like my old car - everything fits the bill apart from the age: mine was 54-plate. Was that a mistake SkiNNeR?

* colour and seats - correct
* wheels - correct
* level of shininess - correct...
* de-badged rear but not sides - correct
* 04-plate (according to OP) - not correct, mine was 54-plate (**54 LTA)

If it was mine then:
* tyres should be Falken FK452s (with LOTS of tread on the rears)
* false floor in the boot making the part nearest the rear level with the innermost part)
* slight tint to the amber sections of the rear lights
* aux cable you mention should be fed into glovebox
* Alpina tax disc holder

Aux-in worked fine when I had it but I swapped my old headunit back into the car before selling it (I'd fitted a newer MP3-playing HU that Adamski now has, along with some nice seats...) so there might be a difference there. I sold it via a family friend with a garage in Kinross. Mine was on ~33k miles when I sold it in May, but I guess it might've been through another owner since then? (the person who bought mine had traded in a 1.0 Ford Ka against it, guess that wasn't you lol)

SkiNNeR, PM me your e-mail address if this is my old car and I'll tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about it :)

Final pic I took of the car before it was sold:

Yea man it was definitely your car bud :) and yes my mistake its a 54 plate. that number plate was the second last owner on the RAC data check :) and everything you saying fits the bill haha, Your a star m8! I did a little investigation shall we say :) on some of your posts.. and it looks like you really loved it! I have saved all the pictures you took of the car also :) some crackers! Always good to know your car has come from a good owner. I think it was an older couple that had it after you, the garage its from was North Road Garage, Kelty.

I can't stop driving it thats my problem lol, I've done 120 miles in 2 days and I should have only done like 36. Its too much fun in this nice weather hehe. I've sent you a pm with my e-mail. I have a lot of receipts but its always good to know what might need done etc in the future to keep it tip top. :driving:

Cheers man!

Thanks m8 much appreciated. yes its basically the service for coolant and oil i think

I'm really chuffed that my Z4's stayed within the forum and ended up with another enthusiast :)

TBH at the time I was selling it I couldn't have cared less about where it went - I was only interested in getting the most for it that I could., hence it's a major bonus it's turned up here. I'll respond to your e-mail in more detail as I won't mention what I got for it, but it's far to say the couple who owned it briefly between you and me lost a bit of money on it. You on the other hand appear to have got a bargain. I'll be able to tell you the full story as far as I know it.

You free for the meet/drive on the 16th Sept? Starts in Edinburgh: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=41131

Edit: all the pics I took of the car are on my flickr page - see link in signature below, lots more pics within my "Car Events" subpage on flickr.

The moment I saw the picture I thought a11ys car before I read the rest of the post. it must be the wheels.. Great car paint work always looked stunning on it ... It would be great to see it on a z4 meet sometime . :thumbsup:

Yea thanks, Really enjoying it unlike the weather heh, Sure will be on a meet at some point, couldn't make the last one, ended up not racing anyway.. but I didn't realise the meet was so early in the morning, I was still very rough from the night before so wouldn't have been driving at that time hehe

Ally i've only just realised you sent me another e-mail.. my hotmail account gets too much junkmail, important e-mails get lost sorry hah.
