Well it's actually the same car, but feels like a different one since I changed the rubber from RFTs yesterday. Found myself looking for ruts and white lines this morning just to prove the car now ignores them. What a difference!

Now to see if I can recoup some of the cost by flogging the RFTs on EBay.

Nice

Worth sticking the RFTs on here too - quite a few people still run them I think.

So I guess noisier, heavier, slightly 'sluggish'?
But if you have a puncture at 90mph*** it doesn't blow to shreds?

*** (which nobody on this forum ever does on British roads, unless it's a track day with adequate insurance)

Fully understand where you're coming from, my Zed has run-flats but my other Series 1 has RFT for summer on 17" and a set of non RFT winter tyres on 16" rims - totally different car, quieter, smoother and driveable in icy conditions. Can't wait to change in the next few weeks.

Switched to Conti Sport Contacts 5 after a year of living in RTF sin. Now, after a season as a convert, I still wake up every day and thank the tyre maker for the pleasures of no tramlining, a smooth ride, and no noise save for the newly-discovered exhaust note.

Hurray... ordered my winter tyres to get put on early November, and I too ( at least temporarily ) will be running 'normal' tyres :)

I am in 100 percent agreement about the run flats. Purchased my car with Bridgestone run flats. Even during the test drive I thought the alignment was seriously off. Then after purchase the ride felt squishy, uncontrollable. I was fighting with the steering wheel. I decided to put "normal" tires on. Pirelli all seasons. What a difference. My car is a dream to drive. Well worth the $750.00 I spent on them. Definately get rid of the run flats.

New life! I was like a kid with a new toy when I changed mine to VReds...

Me too. That's why the first set after changing only lasts 82 miles. :)
