Thats the PART COST of two wipers for a Z4 from $tealer - not including the labour charge you just KNOW they're going to add.

one quick visit to wiper blades.co.uk £20.75 for a pair of retrofit flat blades delivered.

I have a sore arse now as the floor i fell on was tiled...
 
yeah - its just unbelievable - its in the dealer at the moment having its Inspection 2 (£260 all in whoop! :thumbsup: ) but they called to give me the list of the things I have wrong...

Front and rear brakes (don't buy that one, they were checked when the rear springs were replaced two weeks ago and they had a fair bit left then)

The Brake Coolant - I know this needs doing, but I ain't paying £78 to have a non FSH item done, doing it myself with help of family mechanic over the coming weeks...

Then there's the obvious, the broken fog lamp (I know about this, its been like it a while, more pressing things were needed like the tyres, springs and Isp 2 (£950 in 13 days!!!) - and besides, BMW piss me off, only selling the bloody things in pairs lol
 
they always try to rip your eyes off, i wont ay dealer prices as i know a perfectly good mechanic who does my stuff cheap.

plus my car is 6 years old and i dont worry too much about the full bmw service history, i just keep all of the receipts for stuff that i buy or have done.

What mileage you on? and what year is your zed?

I recently purchased some and they are way the best. Less 10% discount is not too bad Vs some of the crap you can buy.

Biggest factor for me it it's the only pair that actually clear the entire window inc. the lower passenger side corner.

I managed to get the dealer to price match down to a local specialist through the Sytner Price Match promise.. http://www.sytner.co.uk/aftersales/aftersales-offers/service-price-match.aspx

First quote I got was £409, then £360, then £310 and then I found a local specialist who would do it for £260 inc genuine parts - after speaking with the service manager I got the deal I wanted, a dealer Isp 2 for £259.60 :) :driving:

That's right - got fed up with different types so splashed about £65 on 5 wipers for the X5 and Z4.
Way better than anything I've fitted before. That includes Aero flat blades, Bosch flat, Aldi cheapos, Halfrauds, etc.
 
Going a bit off topic, what washer additives do people find the most effective - ie no smearing. Is Rainx any good?
 
I'm using the cheap own-brand retro-fit aerostyle wiper blades from http://www.wiperblades.co.uk and they're brilliant - £14.05 delivered for a pair.No idea on durability as I've only had them fitted for approx 1.5k miles, but they work perfectly.

To answer Sticks' query, I also use Rain-X on all windows (side and rear as well as front) so that probably helps. I find Rain-X makes it a lot easier to de-ice your windows - the frost just doesn't stick, and means a soft rubber blade will remove any ice, avoiding the requirement for a potentially0damaging plastic scraper :)
 
I bought the Bosch wipers for the Polo, and they were less then half price online. www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk and use CIVIC01 for the 10% discount at checkout. Free delivery as well.
 
I just ordered a set from the local stealer for £26.79 plus VAT. Seems fair considering the current set are the originals with 46,000 miles on them after 4 years. If these last that long I'll be happy.
