I did both ends and to be honest I was pretty underwhelmed.

Trouble is, being a newbie to performance cars I think I was expecting some kind of deep exhaust note sound.

It's gratis, it's the equivalent of having your ears syringed at the doctors to unblock them :wink:
You remove one or two pieces of sound deadening foam from a pipe connected to the inlet tubing until it sucks all the buttons from your shirt.

Oh I knew that it was an induction sound that I was expecting, I just thought it might sound a bit more 'grunty'.

If you want grunty, backbox delete is the way to go

Backbox delete is the answer....sounds brilliant over 4k rpm! And the crackle pops are a good laugh!
