Just got a z4mc. Fantastic car. Glad I did it. Looked for a couple of years at m3s, but never tempted. Wanted a car with S54 engine and finally bought Z4MC. Looks a bit like a triumph GT6 i had when a kid. Maybe that's why I bought it. Mileage higher than I really wanted at 64k but looks sounds and drives OK. it will be a weekend drive only. Was hoping to keep the miles down but fun to drive so now expecting increase. 7000 miles to next oil change but oil is black. What's the recommendation change it now or wait?

id change the oil as soon as for piece of mind... cant change it too often imho... congrats on the purchase and of course :worthless:

For the cost of an oil service at an Indy I'd get it done as soon as you can.

You bmw service stamps aren't neccesarely a garantuee it's actually been done, I've found.. So I always do a service first thing on my new 2nd hand cars. (Another thing is wheel alignment.. 10/10 times out of line)
 
Welcome and enjoy! Although as said get the oil changed asap... Personally I would also for piece of mind have the rocker cover off to inspect the cams and followers.
 
Welcome, glad you're enjoying it. As the others have said, if you're unsure about the oil then do a change.
