Just bought myself a lovely Z4 - FINALLY!

Hi all

Just thought I would say hi to you all. I've just bought a 2005 Z4 2.2 SE Auto and would like to get some help and advice on how to best look after my new pride and joy. It has been regularly serviced and was very obviously cherished so I'm confident things will be ok. I was attracted to the car not only because it's gorgeous but because I think the previous owner has added just about every possible option on the list to the car (seriously! TV etc!!) and I just wanted to know what gremlins to look out for and if there are any common faults.

I'm already trawling through these forums to get a head start but any help would be really appreciated.

The only consistent gremlin is the rear shocks, apart from that nothing obvious
 
Rear springs,and a service at a bmw stealer,had mine almost a year
now,love it more so with this weeks weather,top down everyday.

Welcome...

No gremlins really but watch that nose. You'll soon have it mashed on speed bumps high kerbs and walls when parking unless you remember it's 2 feet longer than you even imagine it could be :poke:

what about window regulators, seem to be an issue on older cars.
 
Bought the car on Tuesday afternoon :D . Offshore to oilrig on Wednesday morning :( . I won't be picking up my new baby until I get home on the 17th. The dealer has to get one alloy reconditioned and a couple of other minor things sorted anyway. As soon as I get my hands on her and give her the full 'all-day' valet I'll take some pics and post them on here. Two weeks! How will I cope? :headbang:

Hi again

While I'm stuck out here on this oilrig counting the days till I get off and pick up my new Z4 I've been contemplating my purchase in a lot more detail. I think going by the prices I've seen on Autotrader for one of the same model, age and miles I've got a good deal. See what you think.

I got the car for £10250 (after a little bit of haggling!) with 6 month warranty, 1 year MOT and the latest full service just done. Dealer is also having a couple of marks on the alloys repaired. No dings, scratches or marks. Bargain. Cheap motoring for a while (hopefully!). I'm not into speeding, I'm into having a classy quality car so the 2.2 engine is more than good enough for my needs.

I think I got a bargain what do you guys think?
 
Not a bad price at all. Personally, I don't like the Z4 in that colour (nor does the trade hence the lower price). If YOU like it though, thats all that matters. You certainly got a massive spec there!
