I had the same problem. I had to leave it on my drive for 2 days until Diamond pulled their finger out. The post office wouldn't accept a faxed covernote from Diamond, or the email confirmation with policy number etc. There's no wonder people drive around with no tax. It was the longest wait in the world.

Bit of a bugger, but never mind. Last minute insurance issues always cause hurt. Best to get it sorted a good week in advance if you can :)

cheers for the welcomes!

Insurance docs came yesterday in the end and I picked up the z4 in the afternoon. Probably had the best weather to pick it up and a good 2 hour drive home. What an aweome car!!!! I was forever looking out the window when I got home to check on her and I think I might have to go and drive her again! :driving:

Will get some pics up soon! - oh and noticed I have cup holders too!!

The best one minute mod you can do.

If you have a search you should find how to get at the foam. I found it's best with about 25% of the foam retained, being too harsh with none in, and not really sounding any different with 50% left in... ie, it all happens between 50% > 0% foam left :)

stupid question (I'm not very technical when it comes to cars) - I presume you mean there's foam in the exhaust pipe? or engine bay.... :?
 
Nah, it's a pipe going from the airbox, through the bulkhead, and into the cabin. All if does is relay some of the noise into the cabin, no performance increase (stay to the ///M badges for that: each badge = +15bhp... :lol: )

I wasn't convinced I wanted more noise until I removed some of my foam - I'm down to around 1/3 left now and it sounds bloody brilliant - only noticeable under hard acceleration above 3/3.5k revs. Wife doesn't quite agree, she reckons it's a bit loud :roll:

Search for "sound generator" and you'll find all the info you need.
 
Just ordered two M badges, cheers for the advice :lol:

Had a quick search but can't find any pics to explain it, would be worried I cut something wrong out! - does it void warranty or anything?
