Haven't actually got the keys yet but i've dropped a deposit.

I'm having some new-purchase-guilt so i thought i'd come on here for some positive reinforcement :)

While i'm here - i haven't had a soft top car before - how does one look after the floppy bits? and how tough is the stuff?

Good work! Congrats and welcome!

Plenty of info on keeping soft top looking good in the detailing section - they seem to be quite resilient

Quite a good spec - interlagos blue with nav, bluetooth, pro speakers, and a few other bits and bobs. I didn't really buy it for the trinkets though..... i bought it for the noise!

It's been sat at the dealers for a few months as it was overpriced - is there anything i should look out for? It's only done 40 miles in about 3 and a half months

Pilch, you finally got one! I bet you're well chuffed coming from a 1-series! (Pulse from PH)

id look an make sure they havent fitted a 2.0 to it instead of the 3.2
can be very confusing sometimes as they are just so incredibly similar
only difference in speed is that of the rate in which the fuel needle moves in the 3.2
but beggers cant be choosers

interlagos blue is a wicked colour tbh tho! enjoy :driving:

Hello!

I'll be chuffed when i actually get it. Right now i'm wracked with guilt (i always get this when i spend money as i'm a tight-arse).

Can't wait to get hold of it though - something tells me that for once i'm not going to get bored of this one in 3 months

Totally shafted on the depreciation on the 123d coupe though :( I'm hoping the Zed won't plummet in quite the same way! But either way yes the Z4 is in a completely different league. The 1er felt like it was running on a tank full of treacle after my ///M test drive

I deliberated endlessly over the coupe vs roadster thing - i prefer the looks of the coupe, but the 2-cars-in-one aspect of the roadster won it for me - you can actually feel comfortable wafting about in the roadster when the mood takes you - the coupe felt like the Fireblade i used to have - not happy unless it's being gunned everywhere at all times

Not sure as i've px'ed and only haggled the 'cost to change' but if you assume i paid list on the Zed then £17.5k

I lose 10k over 25 months, so it's the worst depreciating car i've ever had.

That's the justification I used to myself when I decided to buy a roadster - that I don't have to be driving it on the door handles to enjoy it. My old Civic Type R was bad for that - only really enjoyable to drive when you're north of 6k revs and "on it".

Sounds a nice spec, congrats :)

to save you searching through the detailing section, I use this to keep my soft top clean and the protector repels water really well.

£17.5k for your 123d? That's good! That said, I don't know what the retail was on your Z! I think £17.5k is definitely fair though :) I could be tempted to pick up a 123d coupe when they go cheap cheap.

Welcome! All we need now is a return to the hot weather for a nice Autumn. Enjoy  You could bring it along to the North Wales meet in September, that will shake any rust out of it for sure! :)
