Just bought a Z4

Hi. I have just bought a Z4 and have been loving it the last couple of hours! 2 problems I've noticed with it so far.
The interior light above my head is flickering like mad. Seems to be an LED. Is this a simple case of just changing the light bulb over or could it be more serious? Also, how do you get access to the bulbs.
The other issue is not a deal breaker but the center Garmin screen display doesn't go up and down on its own, nor do the buttons on the side work. I have to manually lift it up and put it down. Like i said it's not a huge issue. Would just be nice if it was all working as it should be.

You obviously have an after market fit, which isn't the same as the OEM Idrive popup screen....

It seems like it's the original. The flickering light bulb is the thing annoying me the most!
 
Ah maybe the e85s have garmins... but I'd be surprised... Someone more knowledgeable than me on this matter will be along shortly I'm sure! :thumbsup:

Regarding the flickering led if you look closely its likely that some of individual leds get hot and fail, i have the same in mine too i replaced the original bulb with led, the only thing you can do is buy new ones and hope they last longer

It sounds like you've already got the Z4 bug! Did anyone mention photos? :lol:
 
It looks to me like a standard pop up with an aftermarket screen and garmin sat nav. The oem screen and sat nav is extremely dated so if it has been updated then happy days. Also with the standard sat nav, the screen pops up at the slightest provocation which drove me mad. So in my opinion an updated sat nav and a screen that only works if you manually lift it is win win. You could probably get it fixed, but trust me you would wish you hadn’t!
 
Welcome on board. Your Sat Nav set up is not standard. Not seen that software on an E85" set up before. As above you really do not want the standard set up. Yours looks better 8) and a manual flip up has to be better than the OTT Annoying OEM flip up, that thankfully no longer works in my car. :D :thumbsup:
