Just thought I'd say hello. Just bought a 2012 car, which looks well cared for at 35000 miles. Prices seem to be quite steep at the moment!z41.jpg

Hello and welcome to the forum, very nice looking car.

Prices are quite high at the moment for used cars in general and there is a summer tax on vert at the moment, still a great looking car to enjoy

Welcome to the forum, super clean e89 you have there - is it mineral white? There’s loads of information buried in the forum to refer to

Thanks, yes Mineral White over Coral.

I hope the wheels aren't cracked....

Pick the car up tomorrow. Service history is patchy, but I wanted to buy a local car. Last BMW service was 15000 miles ago in 2017, the owner said he serviced it himself.

Only one small mark on the driver's bolster too. Leather is immaculate.

I plan to add LED angel eye bulbs, a Pure Highway dab radio and replace the trim with carbon look aluminium which I have already found on ebay.

The side indicators can stay as I think the originals look great on the MW!

New non runflats to replace the Brdigestones are on the list once I can afford them!

Have a read around on DAB - there does seem to be mixed reviews

I’m not sure if it’s an aftermarket DAB or a BMW specific one you are looking at but there has been a bit of DAB discussion here & it seems that BMW DAB is not as good as some other models. I get great DAB on the VW & Range Rover but there are some distinct differences between the 2 so d9 your research

Every DAB radio I've ever had (in much cheaper cars), in various parts of the country, has been brilliant. Apart from my Z4, which is bloody terrible. It's as if no one at BMW bothered to test it, or just didn't care whether it worked as long as they could tick it off on the spec list.

You will probably be much better off with the aftermarket one.

If you check the cars MOT history, it should show cracked wheels on there, I have 326's love the way they look but I am very careful with how I drive and always avoid bad roads

I would get a service done ASAP just to put your mind at rest and get a stamp in the book, I am sure someone can recommend a good indie local to yourself.

Unfortunately the Northern Ireland system doesn't work the way the GB system does. MOTs are government operated and tested and start at four years and you can't view an MOT history at all!

I will be taking it to a specialist to get all the fluids changed. I think the ZF8 box can wait a while longer though as it only has 35k miles on it!

So I've just ordered some tyres from blackcircles. Fully fitted for under £600. Michelin Pilot Sport 4s 235/35 19 on front and 255/35 19 on the rear! Hopefully will improve the comfort!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You'll fit right in as you are spending money already - the more time you spend on here the dearer it gets!

I for one would be very interested to hear what you think of the change from RFs. £600 is just about what I worked out a swap to some new 18" rims with tyres would cost me (After selling the 19" rims)

Picked it up this afternoon. Love it. Had to do three 40 mile blasts on the motorway and probably 30 miles on lovely twisty stuff. I am not sure why I have ignored the Z4 for so long!

The colour combo is absolutely amazing. Tomorrow the satin silver interior trim gets replaced with carbon aluminium that I bought on ebay!

Never mind, you've got one now and it sounds like you have had a good day. :driving:

I spent this afternoon pulling out the satin silver dash panels and changing them to carbon aluminium. The dash was relatively easy, but the door pulls were difficult needing the door cards to come off. At least I didn't break a single clip!

Haven't driven it yet to see if I have introduced any rattles. Tomorrow I will clean all the hard top seals and give them a treat of Krytox. That should hopefully banish all the noise the seals make with the roof up.

I also plan to have a look at the salmon relays to see if the contacts are worn. Probably wasteful to replace them if they are in good conditon.

I ran a full scan with Bimmerlink and got no errors, so that is also a good sign!
