Hi all,

Just bought a z4 for my self and decided to register to this forum as I have million questions about it and I am guessing this is the best place to ask :D So the car is z4 3.0l made in 2003 - Love it :driving: I currently live in UAE (hoooot) but I am western expat. So here we go:

1. Can I wash this car in a simple petrol station and pour high pressure water, shampoo and wax on this roof?? Do I need to use some kind of conditioner or spray for it??
2. My car is usa spec, but is there any way to change the temperature on my OBC to C instead of F?
3. There is a sport air filter fitter on the car (never had this on any of my previous cars) - do you think its ok for the car in this climate (dubai), with humidity and loads of sand in the air??
4. Correct me if I am wrong, but i heard that i need to top up the oil for the roof mechanism time to time? If yes, what oil and where?
5. The sat nav screen does not open, does anyone know how to take it out and check what is broken there?

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the Forum

1. Roof - personally would not put a high pressure washer on it or the wax from the garage dispenser. Gentle wash in warm water with a good quality car sghampoo.
2. Not sure....
3. Gert rid of it and back to standard with a filter change every 5000km - just spent close to 3 years in Dubai andf the dust can be an engine killer. Would do the same with oil changes - every 5000km
4. All sealed and should be no problem - ass you are in Dubai you wont have the issues of water getting into the pump.
5. Search on here - several threads with this same problem.

Enjoy

I remember seeing the C or F temperature reading to be a programmable option - dealer or otherwise.

Regarding changing the temperature from F to C...

On mine (an '07), there is a button on the left hand stalk (the one you use to cycle through the MPG, average speed, time, and temperature). When the temperature is displayed push the button in and hold it for a few seconds and it will change to Celsius.

Best regards,
Pete
