Hey all. I'm a newly commissioned Air Force officer with my career going into intelligence until I am medically cleared for Special Tactics. I'm new to the forum and recently bought a 2003 black Z4 2.5L with only 32,000 miles on it. Got it for a steal of a price for only $14,000. This Z is unbelievably clean. The only issue is that the previous owner (car was a weekend driver) was kind of an idiot, and left his dog in the garage with the car. The friggin animal apparently chewed on the front lip because it had nothing better to do :x I personally would have shot Cujo on the spot :headbang:

Few questions:

Is the entire bumper including the lip one piece, or is the lip removable? If I were to buy the AIT racing lip and get it painted, would it cover the top of the existing bumper because of the teeth marks? I would like to avoid purchasing an entire new bumper if possible, since this is the only thing wrong with the car.

I really want a set of those white/clear tail lights, but they have apparently been discontinued. I tried searching for them all over the internet, but there isn't anything OEM or aftermarket that resembles them. Does anyone know somebody selling a set?

What's some decent performance mods to make for not a ton of money besides an intake? I worked for a car shop in my teens (never worked on a BMW though), so I know that those cone intakes really don't do hardly anything. I love the 2.5L, but I would like a little more power since i couldn't get a 3.0.

Here's some pics. Tried submitting them the way the tutorial said, so hopefully they work. Enjoy :D

Welcome- nice clean z. The alpina front spoiler will cover it but a new bumper or a respray will be cheaper.

Don't know what it's like over there, but eBay in the UK is full of very cheap pre facelift front bumpers... And eBay.de is the place to find the rear clear lights. Shipping is an issue but German postal rates are pretty good, in my experience.

Car looks nice aside from the chewed bits!

Lovely - looks just like my first Z

Agree with the above - a decent body shop should be able to smooth, fill and paint that lip for a lot less than a new front bumper... which is indeed all one piece.

Welcome to the forum

Aren't many performance mods that will you big BHP without spending megabucks. The 2.5i has plenty power when you press the loud pedal hard though :)

Thanks guys. I checked on ebay.de and did find the clear/white lights, but they only ship within Germany or Austria. Since I live in the US, does anyone know how I go about getting these things shipped overseas without paying out the ***? I'm not a big ebay guy, so I'm not very familiar with how it works other than buying stuff through paypal.

Also, it seems as if there's little to no aftermarket support for our cars as far as aesthetics are concerned. Don't get me wrong, I love the way the Z looks, but I do like to add my own personal touch with my body shop talents.

Thanks for any help.
