Just another day! *FAULT RETURNS FINAL UPDATE*

Not what you want to hear but if there was the remotest chance of handing the car back to the dealer then i would :|
it would eat into my ownership enjoyment too much

X2

Me thinks Swiftly has had it nearly a year now, so might not be an option :(

Just hope they fix it 3rd time round, or is this the 4th or 5th

I have owned my zed for 11 months and the fault didn't appear until into the seventh month of ownership, so don't think I would be in a position to hand the car back and reject it even if I wanted too!

It would be an understatement to say that it wasn't spoiling my Z4 ownership enjoyment a tad, but I have come this far so it looks like I am in for the long haul as I really still like my zed as it ticks all the boxes for me.

Just fo frustrating to say the least :x

Really feel for you mate :( -they should have at least given you a new z4 loaner as compensation.

I know, a 1.4D will certainly slow me down

Got to get it fixed as I am due to visit your part of the world Andy very soon to see swmbo family, east Hull and North Cave to be exact so you never know I might see you about :)

So sorry to hear its not fixed. Take comfort in the fact they have Sid you won't get it back until its fixed.

Completely agree you should have a zed or nice 3er for the time being. I would call and suggest that the car dose not compare and remind them how upsetting all this is for you.

All the best hope it's not o long!

It should only be for a week and not going to be driving that far MM. The decision to keep the zed was made last minute and this was all they had to offer at short notice, otherwise I would have been demading an upgrade to something more suitable.

I will look out for you! :)

Called the dealer this afternoon to get a progress report on the zed. They have ran more tests and on the advice from BMW they have changed the Mas Airflow Meter and re run the tests which were ok. The dealer is going to re run the tests again tomorrow and if everthing checks out okay then I will get the zed back. I am holding my breath that this will be the fault fixed at last, as I have been at this point so many times before.

Will post an update tomorrow, hopefully good news.

Thanks carol :)

What is it they say, we have the technology, we can rebuild it

Got to try and stay positive, but really there can't be much left for them to replace

Fingers crossed its fixed for you Mr Swiftly, then its let the good times roll :driving: :driving:

Picked up the zed tonight from the dealers :D

The Mass Airflow Meter was in deed changed as it was reading the temperature 10 degrees higher than it actually was. The dealer tested the zed twice now before they handed it back to me. I drove it home and have done about 55 miles, and it pulls and runs sweat.

But ….. and there always has to be one. When I restarted the zed after about it had been stood for 30 minutes, I saw a slight flutter of the rev counter needle which was going to up and down for about 5 seconds from 1k to 650 RPM and then back up. :x This is nothing like as bad as before, and again it doesn’t do it all the time. Only the next few days will tell if it is fixed or just lurking in the background waiting to appear at any moment.

Hope its sorted mr S , its been a rollercoaster & fair play for sticking at it

Thanks Mr Wilks, sure has been one hell of a journey so far.

Mind you I forgot to mention the one positive thing when I picked up the zed from the dealers. When they drove the zed onto the ramp, the passenger door mirror glass fell off and smashed. So the dealer fitted me a new one FOC

Day 2 since I picked the zed up from the dealers, and no fault or rough idle noted :D

The engine is running the best it ever has, real smooth like, I am so pleased and relieved as the stress of it all was getting to me. Just hope that this is now the end of this horrid chapter and I can now enjoy the my zed and the summer :D :driving:

I do hope that your zed is fixed. It's been often luck for you! Fingers crossed you have lots and lots if trouble free enjoyable miles.

And I am fed up of listing o these tales of woe. It's started depressing me!! I have no idea how your feeling?
