IF i were to do a cross country adventure(highly unlikely at this moment, but still... lol) would members of this forum lend me a place to crash and for me/car to take a shower?

just an idea... I reallly realllly reallllllly want to drive my car but man, lodging takes up majority of your expenditures... of course gas too(maybe 28mpg if im lucky)

just askin :D
 
ok just did a preliminary routing... from MD to San Fran, to San Diego, to MD... 6024 miles / 28mpg = 215gallons of fuel x $4 = about $860 just for gas in 100% perfect world. im guessing like $1000 for gas only ...yikes

im gonna need more fuel efficient car before i attempt this
 
Along long tima ago, I once did a road trip from Montreal to Victoria, BC in an Honda Civic. :) Now that I recall the roads that I took I wish I had the Z4M at that time, gasoline be damned.

No, you just need a change of mindset by way of justifying it. How much would the airfare for the same trip be for instance? And thats not taking account of how little fun that would be in comparison. :D
 
airfare is not bad... if you find a good deal, from Baltimore, MD to Los ANgeles, i can do round trip for like $350 ish...

$1000 gas, and lets see, $500 for food(i eat a lot...lol) man gonna need to save up lots of money or wait till hydrogen cars come out lol

IF i were to do it, I want to see bunch of sights along the way...like yellow stone, rushmore, cool and important landmarks u know?
 
I would let you stay at my place, but I am a little out of the way for your planned roadtrip. FlyboyAJ stopped by for a few days on his last trip through the area and we did the local Hooter's tour (Darn, the wife had to work!) :D

On my trip to HC and back, I had the cruise set to 78 and I had 31-32mpg...
This with a 2.5 and a 5speed Steptronic....

This was not measured with the computer. Just did the math: miles/gallons..

Same MPG driving up here to CT.
