If you claimed, how would an insurance company deal with this claim? Would it ultimately be classed as your 'fault' because no third party could be found?
I'm interested because there are lots of policies out there that protect your NCD if if the damage is caused by an uninsured driver or by vandalism... but this kinds falls between the cracks. But there is definitely a crime there right? Driving away from the scene of an accident, no matter how small, is illegal.
The whole protected no claims is a con, they let you keep your no claims, but elevate the initial figure before the ncd is applied. it's better than having no protection, but you will definitely see an elevation in premium, even though NCD remains the same.
