Just a trickle

I know its been talked about before but is there a definative answer, windscreen washer jets (well trickles) are just that, trickles . Have read it could be the filter thats blocked but also read dont take out could cause leaks etc,is there a way to cure this problem as am sure many of you agree the windscreen washer system is essential at this time of year, dont you just love salt :headbang: thanks in advance Steve ps. i must add sytem is completely thawed and pins have been gently inserted into holes with no joy.

you probably need to remove pipework from jets underneath bonnet, take jets indoors and have a good root around in them with a pin (both ends), blowing through them until they are clear.

Doesn't take much to allow bacterial growth in the fluid reservoir and tubes (black shite) that then detaches and blocks your jets.

Acid test is if you get maximum ejaculation from the detached pipework then its defo blocked jets...

Outside chance could be your fluid is slushy and the pump is having a hard time, but unblocking the jets is best place to start.

lol is there a set standard for maximum ejaculation or does it differ from model to model :D On a seroius note when pipes are removed do the jets just pop out. Thanks for taking the time to answer lacroupade.

LOL. not removed the beemers but usually they pop out easily - are only held in place by the usual moulded-in squeezy plastic clips, can't see the Zed being any more complex. Pipes should just be a pushfit onto the jets themselves so might be a bit harder to pull off when freezing cold

As for flow rate, you'll soon see if the pipework is flowing properly trust me.

If it's both just trickling then it's 99% certain to be a jelly like gunge in on the filter in the washer bottle. Just pull it out clean it up and put it back and don't worry about leaks. If it still doesn't work or you prefer to do the jets first then they just pop out from under the bonnet by pressing the locking tab in a little and clean them as Lacroupade says.

ah, I'd been wondering what the capacity of the water reservoir was
is it actually embossed into the plastic
