June Car and Driver article

Just read the latest article on the new Z4. I was disappointed. It wasn't a negative article, but not very positive either. They give you the sense you'd probably only buy one if you had gray thinning hair and in a midlife crisis. They say the new Z4 has a more balanced look compared to the previous Z4, but the car has an almost "cartoonish" long nose. I guess they feel we'd buy it for sexual overcompensation. :o

Why are you disappointed? The magazine's car reviews are there to help you make a choice. Go test drive one and see if you agree with them. Regardless of if you agree with them it will be your choice to buy one if you are pleased with the car and what you want from it.

they didn't really like the E85 either always compared it to the boxter and said it wasn't as good

Now the will compare the E89 to the SLK and I am sure they will think the SLK is better

I have "gray thinning hair and a midlife crisis" and it drove me to buy an E86 Z4M 2 years ago. I wouldn't buy the current car unless my teeth were falling out and I needed a Rascal and an oxygen tank to get through the day. :wkr:

Got to say that at my local launch the other week, those were the only type of people that were seen placing orders forthe new z4!

Give me a few more years and you will probably see me in one though!

I guess I was hoping that there would be many good things said for not only the new Z4, but for Z4s in general. I don't see many positive comments about the Z4. It's kinda like they don't even include the Z when speaking of cool, desireable sports cars. I really like my 2005 and I guess I'd feel better if I thought there was some respect for the lil Z.

BTW, I'm not in the market for another. I'm good with this one. Did I mention I've got thinning gray hair? :D Sheeeeesh, maybe they're right! :headbang:

The Boxster is the best convertible sports car built. period. It drives so well the suspension glides over bumps and it's got a Porsche badge on it.

But that's not the whole story! it looks dreadful and it is so good at what it does it leaves you feeling a bit detached from the driving experience. The Z4 isn't perfect and the suspension can be hard and caught out on uneven surfaces, but it's a great looking car and when you drive it hard it's rewarding in a way the Boxster could never be.

Enjoy it for what it is :) I've got thinning grey hair as well!! Theme running here

X2 From another with more bald then hair.

You can't really call the new car a phallic symbol for the young because...

well...

Have you seen how wrinkled the damned bonnet is?
