Jumping radio -really

Ok this seems as daft to me as it probably does to you but my radio skips!

Not in the Z but in the X3 hack. The CD and jack play perfectly but the FM radio sounds like an old fashioned record player skipping back and forward by a fraction of a second.

It does it on all stations, wave bands and all the time

Just don't get it. Any ideas anyone?

I get this in my E87 listening to FM radio 2 sometimes. Like a badly edited stream. Don't listen to any other station so not sure if it's the broadcast or not. All other time listen to MP3 via use stick and all is well in the world.

Mine does it on all the fm stations and the one am station I listen to, X3 is 2007 so too old to have USB. Has a 3.5 jack socket but the sound is really poor. CD is ok and that does not jump.

Just for info. Haven't used it much recently but needed a DIY run yesterday so had a fiddle with the radio en route. Switching off the RDS stops the jumping, switching it back on starts it again. No RDS for me then

The skip is probably as the rds is retuning the radio,
