Juddering when heavy braking

I am told by my independent that my brakes are ok but the judder when braking could be caused by something worn on the front suspension. Has anybody had a similar experience on their e89? Cars booked in next Friday for further investigation.
 
Knacked bushes could be a possibility.
Does it knock when braking at really slow speeds when on and off the brake pedal?

So did the garage not check this out for you after finding nothing wrong with the brakes ??
 
I have owned quite a few BMWs over the years and most have at some point suffered from warped front discs. First thing I would check. :thumbsup:
 
Did your indie use a dial gauge to check the discs? If not how do they know the discs are ok? A visual check is not good enough, you can't see if discs are warped by eye. As Patriot says this needs to be ruled out first as if not, and bushes etc, are changed, the problem might still be there and then you'll have to stump up for new discs as well as the bushes which might not be needed. Imho I would insist they check the discs with a dial gauge first.
 
Thanks for all the responses. The judder is not through the steering wheel it's on the brake pedal. It only started after the rear brake pad were changed. I still feel it could be worn or warped discs. There is no noise from the front when going over all Manchester's numerous speed bumps. Friday's visit to the garage should solve the problem.

Now you mention "after your rear brakes were done" :poke:
If it started after that, then that's where the problem lies IMHO, take it back to who ever did the work and get it sorted. :roll:
 
Always worth getting the wheel balance checked to. I thought I had wrapped a set of front disks, after replacing the pads. It was actually caused by a very slight imbalance in the wheels/tyres. Seemed strange that it only showed it self after the new pads were fitted, but there you go.
 
Do a bed in procedure first , free and normally works . 60 down to 20 until they stink and go blue then drive home the long way round to cool them off .
