Juddering coming from underneath the car

Hi All

I am in no way technically minded when it comes to cars so forgive my very basic description.

I noted the other day when driving, I got to around 60mph and I noticed what can only be described as juddering coming from underneath the car. It was like whatever is rotating underneath the car seemed really much more noticeable and you could feel it. Anyway, after about 10 minutes it went away. Then, the next day it happened again.

When I had my new tyres and tracking done a few months ago the guy said that the brushes were looking quite worn down and would need replacing soon, could this be what is causing this?

Also, on occasions, when the car has been parked overnight and you come to drive it in the morning, when you go into first gear to move off, the engine can sometimes really judder at the biting point, but not always, this is quite sporadic.

Also, I work nightshifts, blocks of four days on and four days off which means the car is left not moving for four days, could this cause any issues?

Sounds like a binding brake caliper ? Go for a drive that uses brakes as opposed to motorway , then feel all the calipers/discs & if one is much hotter than the others you have your culprit
The "bushes" i doubt would cause any judder , more a looseness through the wheel or knocks over bumps
 
I have been away with work since writing this post and on coming back home I am still having the same issues. I only recently had all the brake discs and pads replaced on the front and back.

When I am driving on a non motorway road there is no vibration coming from under the car. As soon as I get on the motorway and hit 60-70 MPH I can feel a rotating juddering vibration coming from under the car and it gradually gets a little louder and vibrates more to a point where the steering wheel seems to get a bit of a slight lose feeling. Then, after about 5-10 minutes driving it stops.

Could this be something to do with the breaks still? :o
 
Is it still safe to drive at the moment and do you know if these are big repair jobs?

If it "is" the drive shaft, then being rear wheel drive they're pretty easy to fix but I have no idea what a garage would charge or if that's even the problem I'm afraid. If you have a friendly local garage who will put it up on ramps for five minutes that may help with the diagnostic.
 
Thanks for the info, I am going to pop to the local garage when the weather clears up and seen what they think.
